The cost for charging electric cars has finally entered the realm of consciousness to more of us. With up to 80% fuel savings and the highest gas prices in North Americ, it is no wonder that British Columbia seems to be leading the pack when it comes to switching to an electric car.
A recent survey commissioned by BC Hydro found the average British Columbian commuter travels about 20 kilometres each day in their car, though we are not sure about the exact scope of questioning when you consider commuters travelling from Langley BC to Downtown Vancouver and back. As the study shows, this trip daily commute in a Honda Civic – the top-selling small sedan would cost six times more than it would cost in a Nissan Leaf – the top-selling electric vehicle which is the highest gap between the most cost-effective EV and its comparable gas vehicle.
